About Me

My name is Hilary and I live in a small town called Daventry in Northamptonshire. I am married with 6 grown up children and 7 grandchildren.

From a very early age I collected dolls, mainly baby ones, and have always loved art and drawing children's portraits. About 10 years ago I started going to dolls fairs, it was at one of these fairs that I met a famous sculptor by the name of Susan Walters. She sculpted babies out of cernit - a polymer clay, that hardens when baked. I started talking to her and ended up coming away from the fair with all I needed to sculpt my first baby. I couldn't wait to get home and "give it a go". For a couple of years I sculpted babies exclusively, and successfully sold them.

Then, at one of my visits to a Dolls fair, I saw for the first time, a stall selling reborn dolls and supplies. I was fascinated, so brought my first Berenguer, including instructions and supplies. Reborning was very basic then, washing with acrylics and rooting thick hair. That was 4 years ago and I have not looked back. During those years my skills as a reborn artist have have gone from strength to strength, and have developed a complex and lengthy process. I feel that no shortcuts should be used and rushing will only produce inferior results. I keep up with all the latest changes in techniques and adopt them if they produce superior results. It is a continual learning process, which is part of the fun, and I strive to be good as I can possibly be.

Reborning is wonderful and very therapeutic and I get such joy and pleasure transforming play dolls into life like babies. As each newborn child is unique then so are my reborn's. I strive for perfection and would not sell any baby I was not happy with, I do not sell seconds!

I do commissioned work, so contact me if there is a reborn that you have seen and would like to adopt. If you need to know anything more, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Below are samples of feedback I have received as a seller on Ebay (I only sell reborn's).
This will give you an unbiased view of my work from other buyers (I take great pride in the responses I have had).

I hope you get as much enjoyment from these little ones as I have in creating them.
